What unique opportunities are afforded by pastoring a multi-ethnic church?
Pastoring a multi-ethnic church affords a unique opportunity to:
- Demonstrate that unity in Christ can overcome all worldly differences. A multi-ethnic church can provide a rich foretaste of the day when people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will worship God in perfect harmony (Rev. 7:9-10).
- Destroy misconceptions about Christianity. For example, in the Muslim world, “Christianity” is strongly associated with the moral corruptions of Hollywood. So if a Muslim were to encounter a church made up not just of Americans but Middle Easterners, East Asians, and more, they would be surprised, to say the least.
